FRANK HOULTON MEMORIAL TROPHY 

The Frank Houlton Trophy is awarded, annually, to the member who wins the most points in livestock classes at nominated shows.  There were eight shows eligible in 2007, Three Counties Show, RBST Show, The Society Show, The Royal Show, Stroud Show, Berkley Show, Moreton in Marsh Show and Breeds of Gloucestershire Show & Sale.  The judge at a nominated show must be a member of the Society’s judge’s panel and the Society’s showing rules apply.  The points awarded: 3 for 1^st place, 2 for 2^nd place, 1 for 3^rd place, plus 1 extra point for Breed Champion. 0.5 point for Reserve Breed Champion, 2 points for Interbreed Champion, 1 point for Reserve Interbreed Champion.

Stroud Show, Berkley Show and Moreton in Marsh Show did not have classes in 2007 due to flooding and Foot & Mouth.

From the shows that were held with Cotswold Classes, Davina Stanhope retained the Trophy in 2007, which was presented at the winter social evening at Aldsworth Village Hall.  The full results are: 

COTSWOLD GOLDEN FLEECE CHALLENGE TROPHY 

The Cotswold Golden Fleece Challenge Trophy is awarded, annually, to a member who wins the most points in fleece competitions at nominated shows.  There were five nominated shows in 2007:  Three Counties Show, RBST Show, The Royal Show, Stroud Show and The Society Show.  The points awarded are: 3 points for 1^st place, 2 points for 2^nd place, 1 point for 3^rd place, and extra 2 points for Interbreed Champion and 1 point for Reserve Interbreed Champion. 1 attendance point is awarded, per exhibitor, if they have one or more fleeces forward for judging.

The Perpetual Trophy, a hand carved shepherds crook, was presented at the winter social evening at Aldsworth Village Hall to Mr & Mrs P Froehlich as the breeder of C10391 Bramble Noble. 

Champion Flock at the Society Show.

Council has decided to present a trophy each year to the owner of the Champion Flock at the Society Show. The Trophy is a slate disc with the Society logo etched on it, framed and engraved.   The Champion Flock is the flock that gains the most points at the Society Summer show.

Points are awarded on the basis of only one place to count per class and no more that 3 results to count overall.  The aim is to encourage consistency and not necessarily quantity.   Breed champion and reserve breed champion points will only be awarded in the case of  a tie.
